About PGFRB
Engineering Better Reinforcement for the Future
Premium Glass Fiber Reinforced Bars (PGFRB) is a Pakistan-based manufacturer specializing in Glass Fiber Reinforced Polymer (GFRP) reinforcement solutions for concrete construction.
Traditional steel reinforcement has served the construction industry for generations. However, corrosion, weight, transportation and maintenance challenges have created demand for alternative reinforcement technologies.
To provide modern, durable and high-performance reinforcement solutions for the next generation of infrastructure.More about PGFRB
GFRP Rebar
Lightweight. Corrosion Resistant. High Performance.
PGFRB GFRP Rebar is a non-metallic composite reinforcement manufactured using high-strength glass-fiber rovings embedded in an engineered epoxy resin matrix.
Corrosion resistant
Non-metallic reinforcement that does not rust through the electrochemical mechanism affecting steel.
Lightweight
Lower density than steel can simplify handling, transportation and site logistics.
High strength-to-weight
High tensile capacity can be achieved with relatively low material weight.
Non-magnetic
Suitable for applications where magnetic interference is undesirable.
Electrically non-conductive
Useful in selected electrical, medical, transportation and specialized infrastructure applications.
Multiple diameters
Current production configuration covers DN6 through DN35.
GFRP vs Steel
Why Consider GFRP Instead of Steel?
Where corrosion, weight, electromagnetic properties or long-term maintenance are major considerations, GFRP can offer a compelling alternative.
Steel is vulnerable to corrosion when moisture and chlorides reach the reinforcement. GFRP does not undergo the same electrochemical corrosion mechanism — making it particularly attractive for aggressive environments.
Compare GFRP & Steel| Property | GFRP Rebar | Steel Rebar |
|---|---|---|
| Corrosion | Does not rust through steel-type electrochemical corrosion | Susceptible to corrosion under suitable exposure conditions |
| Weight & handling | Low density; easier manual handling in many applications | High density; heavier handling |
| Magnetic behavior | Non-magnetic | Magnetic |
| Electrical behavior | Non-conductive | Conductive |
- Corrosion
- GFRP: Does not rust through steel-type electrochemical corrosion
- Steel: Susceptible to corrosion under suitable exposure conditions
- Weight & handling
- GFRP: Low density; easier manual handling in many applications
- Steel: High density; heavier handling
- Magnetic behavior
- GFRP: Non-magnetic
- Steel: Magnetic
- Electrical behavior
- GFRP: Non-conductive
- Steel: Conductive
GFRP and steel have different mechanical properties and design considerations, so GFRP should be specified and designed according to applicable engineering requirements rather than treated as a simple one-for-one substitution.
Quality
Quality Is Built Into Every Bar
At PGFRB, we believe that reinforcement is not simply a construction material — it is part of the structure’s long-term performance.
Our manufacturing approach focuses on
- Consistent raw materials
- Controlled production processes
- Fiber alignment and resin impregnation
- Dimensional consistency
- Surface/profile consistency
- Product testing
- Batch-level quality control
- Continuous process improvement
Certification & testing in progress
Our certification and testing program is currently under process. As certifications and third-party testing are completed, PGFRB will publish applicable documentation and verified technical data.
We believe in publishing what we can prove — not making claims before they are verified.

Applications
Where GFRP Makes a Difference
GFRP reinforcement is particularly relevant to concrete structures where corrosion resistance, reduced weight, non-magnetic behavior or electrical non-conductivity are important.
Bridges & Flyovers
A corrosion-resistant reinforcement option for bridge components exposed to moisture and salts.
Roads & Highways
Lightweight, corrosion-resistant reinforcement for suitable concrete pavement and highway work.
Marine & Coastal
Relevant where saltwater and chloride exposure threaten reinforced concrete.
Water & Wastewater
A non-metallic option for demanding treatment and wastewater environments.
Industrial Construction
Durable reinforcement where moisture, chemicals and operating conditions are a concern.
Parking Structures
For selected parking elements exposed to moisture and chemicals that corrode steel.
Tunnels & Underground
Non-metallic, corrosion-resistant reinforcement for challenging underground exposure.
